Development of ICT Applications in the University Libraries of Assam: A Study

Abstract

The emerging Information Communication Technologies (ICT) have brought many changes in  the libraries. These technologies have facilitated LIS professionals to work together to acquire and share and provide better services to the user community. As a result, ICT is gaining increased attention in the service computing community. This paper is more specific, in that it focuses on ICT application and the developments in the University Libraries of Assam. The present study is an attempt to explore the pattern of growth and development of different areas of the University Libraries of Assam in application and  implementation of ICT. It also discusses the developmental trend in implementing ICT in the University Libraries of Assam.
