Abstract

A library being the heart of any educational institution provides support in teaching, learning and research activities. Due to application of ICT, there has been a drastic change in the library functions and services in manifold dimensions in the present time. Besides, the users demand for both qualitative and quantitative resources, product and services in the library. Through exercising best practices, a library can attract the user community and make the potential users to habituate user of the library. The paper highlights the best practices which are being followed by the degree college libraries affiliated to Dibrugarh University of Assam state. Based on the primary data collected through field survey among college libraries spread over the seven districts of Assam, data analysis is done and recommendations are made.
