The Present Status of Dibrugarh District Library: A User Study

Abstract

With the advent of Internet and new technologies the rural India has also changed. These new web technologies open up new ways of interactive communication between public libraries and the civil society. The public library has to serve as a cultural and educational centre of the community in which it is located. In these public library systems, District Library is a component which provides free library services to all the persons of the entire jurisdiction of the district. Dibrugarh District Library is also one of the major public library of Assam. The present study is conducted to examine the present status of Dibrugarh District Library. It also highlights the current scenario of the library and also discusses the finding along with some suggestion to improve the existing service.
