Library Services in Colleges of Darrang and Udalguri District, Assam with slant to users’ perspectives

Abstract

Library facilities and services available in ten numbers of colleges of Darrang and Udalguri District, affiliated to Gauhati University have been investigated. Seven college libraries found to be carrying out automation activities primarily cataloguing and circulation. Total collection: Total User ranges between 38:1 to 3:1. Overall satisfaction of the users with the library services gathered in Lickert weighted scale of five varies between 60.47% ( gives overall rank 4) to 3.33% ( gives overall satisfaction rank 1). A roadmap has been lined to harness the library services in the colleges towards optimizing the satisfaction of the users.
